Mike Donovan is the CEO of Nexus Services, Inc., a family of companies dedicated to serving immigrant communities across the United States, and a civil rights advocate. He is also the host of the popular public affairs radio and television programs, Breaking Through.
Founded in 2011, Nexus has helped reunite thousands of immigrant families that have been separated as a result of detention. Mike works tirelessly to help immigration detainees and their families manage our complex and broken immigration system. As a champion of immigrant rights and immigration reform, Nexus sponsors one of the country’s leading pro-bono immigration legal services, Nexus Caridades. With a full-time team of 20 dedicated attorneys, Caridades attorneys perform over 55,000 hours a year in pro-bono legal representation defending immigrants in removal proceedings and their families.
In addition, Mike fights to reform our broken immigration, money bail bond, and criminal justice systems through compassionate legislation. He has authored numerous bills that are now law in the Commonwealth of Virginia related to criminal justice reform and protecting the rights of all residents. In addition, Nexus’s government affairs team performs 7,000 hours a year in advocacy on behalf of immigration and criminal justice reform.
Born and raised in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Mike lives in Fishersville, VA.
